Supporting Tibet

Hill Walk

A sponsored walk took place along the Stour Valley in Kent  on Midsummers Day 2008 in aid of 'Save Tibet'

ParticipatingDuring the following weeks  artists  recreated their experience;

the works were exhibited in Waterstones two weeks later, including my contribution, a short video.

Artists Statement:

'Walking Wind Walk', connects the Kentish hills where the artist formally lived, and the welsh landscape where she currently resides..... and walks.

The flags billowing on willow sticks, respond to the ever- changing elements, the wind visually manifesting itself in the translucent organza. Each flag symbolises joy and spiritual freedom in their unpredictable flight.

The Tibetans driven from their home land, retain peaceful spirituality and unique traditions, amongst these, flying hundreds of prayer flags, until they disintegrate in the wind and are at one with the elements.

 The artist  dedicates this work to the Tibetans.

49 Flags were positioned representing 49 years of exile in Dharamsalem, India

One flag one year away from their homeland

Sky, wind elements bring hope for freedom of movement

Sending peace and hope to Tibetans wherever they reside
